I had to read this for school and I really didn't enjoy it. I'm glad that we're finished with it and hopefully I will never have to read this ever again! The only thing that was slightly interesting was the love triangle between Edgar, Cathy, and Heathcliff. The whole story is depressing and most of the characters are either bratty, evil, or haughty--or sometimes all three. I DO NOT recommend this book to anyone.

Hard to read, I couldn't really understand all that was being said. I'm sure its a classic, but only the few can read it, or stand to read it.

It was good enough that I finished it and didn't feel like I had wasted my time.

Inescapable if you believe that there is only one love on this earth for you.

Wuthering Heights was a fascinating story, of hatred, betrayal, and love. I do not want to get too complicated, because it is hard to explain or describe! One must read it thereself to understand!

Required reading for most high school students at some time. I first read this years ago, but long after high school. I'd just seen the movie, so I decided to try the book. Back then I thought it was pretty good. The second time now... not so much. It's so-so, I guess.

wonderful gothic classic

In my opinion, this book is way overrated. So much manic depression and anger among the characters. Points for originality and writing style.

This is an amazing amazing read - if you liked PRIDE AND PREJUDICE you'll love this. Catherine and Heathcliff are like Elizabeth and Darcy times infinity, if you can believe it. It's fantastic.

@jddvfb - that's funny, I would have said the characters were stronger than the prose style.

An incredible book! I absolutely love it!
A romance that transcends time and even life - this book is a must read for everyone!

Most of the characters are incredibly unlikeable, but that is what makes this story so unique. Bronte's writing captures the callousness of the human spirit and coupled with elements of the supernatural, it is both a chilling and an excellent read.
