I couldn't put the book down! The characters were interesting and easy to follow along. The story just kept building up. Can't believe it took so long to find this fun mystery series. Just requested the next book in the series

An quick and easy summer read. I like someone else's description of the book as "cozy." I didn't really care for the main character Mary George Murphy, but I liked the character Augusta Goodnight so I'll likely check out the next book in the series before I make a decision whether or not to carry on with it.

Also, it reminded me of "The Sugar Queen" by Sarah Addison Allen. Very similar story elements - food, magic, mystery, etc.
