Every night while the city sleeps, Ahmad, a former rock star in his native Pakistan, drags his heavy cart along the streets of New York. Every morning, he sells coffee and donuts to a city he cannot call his own. One day the pattern of this harsh existence is broken by a glimmer of hope for a better life.

a realistically bleak film of a realistically bleak immigrant's life operating a corner coffee stand in NYC. bleak but not despairing. inspired by Camus' Myth of Sisyphus. Ahmad faces the same daily challenge over and over while working and hoping to be able to make a life with his estranged son.

Too much is left unresolved.

A bittersweet story. Not a lot of action, but you feel sympathy for the main character as he struggles to make a living in New York City. His hard and lonely existence is probably an accurate reflection of many immigrants in America; those who perform the service jobs that few of us would ever want to have.
