If you live in the metro Denver area, you probably don't have a lot of backyard. Guess what? You don't need a lot of backyard to grow awesome fruits and veggies! I loved reading this. Too bad I didn't read this earlier in the year or you may have found me plotting my own backyard garden.

if you like to read a story about one person's trials and tribulations for transforming her backyard into an orchard/veggie garden/farm. What I love was the statement:
"one of the great pleasures of a garden is sharing the produce." that said, if you're looking for a step by step how to book, this not it. There are recipes interdispersed throughout the book. What was most interesting was the chapter summarizing all the edible parts of common and not so common veggies.

This is a great winter read. It has good tips on what worked for her or didn't. Took some thoughts for my garden, esp on the "natural" bug control through other bugs. Good recipes. What I love the most, though, is the conversational tone. It was a fun look at gardening, not at all dry, and got me enthused for the spring. It's a great book to keep your perspective on gardening. I may have to buy this one to keep handy.

I have never read a more entertaining gardening book! I learned so much--and the hints are far more likely to stick given the author's comical storytelling.
