Zero Day is the first book in Baldacci's John Puller series and I enjoyed the read, rating it a solid 4 star book. Puller is a military investigator sent to investigate a multiple murder in rural West Virginia. Working with a local cop, Sam Cole, Puller discovers this was no ordinary murder and as the bodies keep piling up, he realizes that nothing is as it appears to be and the stakes might be higher than anyone believed. A good thriller and a real page turner. Another good Baldacci read.
I liked the characters but the plot seemed to jump all over the place. The big ending lacked credibility and did not contribute at all in making the book better
Featuring special army agent John Puller who is smart, super strong, attractive and on and on. Not neccessarily a believable character but the story is top notch. A good detective story about a family found dead, the father who is high up in the military. A good who done it. The clues and evidence are meticulously examined and laid out for us so we can follow along.
Another great novel by Baldacci. It's another John Puller "can't put it down" book.
The book keeps you guessing until the end.
My first Baldacci book and liked it because the character and writing is so similar to Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels. I was amazed to see all of the army people in high command that Baldacci had consulted to write this novel. Simply written, but without the excruciating details that Child uses to describe Reacher's actions, this novel
would be a good choice for holiday reading. It is a book that is easy to pick up reading after a brief stop without wondering what or who the characters are. Good read for teen boys too as there is lots of action and intrigue but without the detailed violence that some authors give and no sex.
Wow - finished this one in 3 evenings! Love the John Puller series and I hope to see more :)
This is, more like it - an exciting book. I found "Hell's Corner" to be a disappointment - as did many others. Now he's really earning his royalties!
A bit of a tough ending.
The main character is a tough military guy. He's not too deep but gets the job done.
I liked Baldacci's Oliver Stone character much better. More depth.
If you're a fan of Baldacci it's worth a read.
