SOON TO BE A NETFLIX FILM, STARRING ELLE FANNING AND JUSTICE SMITH!

The New York Times bestselling love story about two teens who find each other while standing on the edge.

Theodore Finch is fascinated by death. Every day he thinks of ways he might kill himself, but every day he also searches for--and manages to find-- something to keep him here, and alive, and awake.

Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her small Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister's recent death.

When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school--six stories above the ground-- it's unclear who saves whom. Soon it's only with Violet that Finch can be himself. And it's only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet's world grows, Finch's begins to shrink. . . .

This one will definitely pull at the heart strings HARD. Violet and Finch are
classmates who meet at the ledge of their school’s bell tower, as you read it
becomes unclear who is there to save the other that day. As the story continues you
dive into this new connection that is made between these two teens who feel a little
lost in the world. I will say this book does cover the topic of teen suicide a lot, so if
someone is sensitive to that topic, this might not be the best for them. Otherwise, I
found this to be a very important read, as it allows us to delve into a new and
different human experience.

Summary
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven is a multi-perspective book narrated by Violet Markey and Theodore Finch who were strangers that found themselves on the top of the bell tower ledge at Bartlett High School in Bartlett Indiana. Finch knew why Violet was up there because it happened to be the same reason as him, which was to jump. Violet who was trembling with fear was carefully lead back down to school grounds by Finch. They went from being U.S. Geography partners to being lovers, and they learned things that they never knew about each other. Finch learns about how Violet Markey was a car crash survivor who was on her way back home from a teenage house party, but her sister Elenor wasn't as lucky and Violet had to live with the guilt of her sister's death. On the other hand, Violet finds that Finch had an obsession with death and was always looking at different ways to die and was labelled as “The Freak” that was on thin ice about being expelled from school. Along their journey of wandering Indiana, they found themselves not just living off the basic needs of a human being but living off of each other, because every moment they spent with each other was the only thing keeping themselves from taking their lives. However, Violet and Finch have a dispute that leads to Finch drowning himself. Violet being emotional than ever thanks Finch for helping her bringing her out of a nutshell and being able to see the world from a different perspective.
Personal Thoughts
I rate this novel 5/5. I think it's suitable for ages 14+. I would recommend this book to people who are interested in books about Love, Death, and Friendships. Although there is mature content that may not be suitable for everyone. My favourite parts are when Violet and Finch spent their moments together wandering Indiana, and the Lyrics Finch left for Violet before he dies. There is nothing about the book that I dislike.

Such a good book. I think it’s beautiful. I love finch. I love the way he thinks, what he says, his sticky note wall... It was sad but I love that it was real. I definitely recommend it.

I remember crying my eyes out at the end. And then I read the author's note.
Not surprised that I woke up the next day with swollen eyes!
