Years ago, Disney's most villainous villains were banished to the Isle of the Lost, a floating island covered in a dome. It was magic-less, and the villains were stripped off their powers. They also lost everything they had, forced to wear old clothing and eat spoiled food. When Carlos invented a machine that blasted a small hole in the dome, Maleficent's Dragon's Eye was awakened. The most powerful evil weapon, it was the villains only hope to escape. Their parents sent their children out on a quest to reclaim the Eye, each for their own selfish reasons. But during the quest, the VKs start to help, care and support. Meanwhile, Prince Ben was having visions of a beautiful, purple haired girl with bright green eyes. Thinking that she was one of the lost villains on the island, he made a choice that would change the Isle forever and the world forever.
Banned on the Isle of the Lost, four teenage descendants of the wicked Disney's villains set off to find Maleficent's powerful, magical staff, the Dragon's Eye. Together, Mal, daughter of Maleficent; Jay, son of Jafar; Carlos, son of Cruella De Vil; and Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen work with one and other to find the Dragon's Eye and learn that just because they are from a evil blood line, being a little good isn't so evil.
The Isle of the Lost tells the story of four teens who are the descendants of some of Disney's most infamous villains. Mal, the daughter of the wicked maleficent, must find a way to finally prove to her mother that she is worthy of being her daughter by fetching a valuable magical item, while completing a wicked deed. Jay, son of the great Jafar, is a notorious pickpocket and thief who always stays by Mal's side and helps her with her quest. Jay is the closest thing to a friend that villains can possibly have. Carlos, son of the crazed Cruella de vil, makes an amazing discovery that just might allow villains to once again use magic and escape from the island which they have been imprisoned on. Evie, daughter of the beautiful Evil Queen, must find a way to fit in with her peers whom she has been alienated from for the past ten years, and must evade the wicked plans of Mal. Together these four young villains embark on a quest in which they discover that even evil can sometimes be good, and even villains can turn out to be heroes.

Add a CommentTwenty years ago, all the villains of your childhood classic Disney fairy tales get put into one island: The Isle of the Lost, under the command of King Beast, elected king of the United States of Auradon. Now, the kids of their respective villain parents are teenagers, ready to do whatever it takes to prove they're just as evil as their parents. I really enjoyed this book, especially the characters. While I felt the book had a slow start (with the plot only really coming into action about 150 pages into the novel), it had a great finish. You can find a couple plot holes here and there, though that doesn't make The Isle of the Lost any less enjoyable. Though in some parts, I found it repetitive that they had to mention how evil they were once every chapter but I guess I'll let it slide because, you know, that is the reason they're on the Isle in the first place. To sum it all up, if you're up for good and entertaining characters, totally read it! If you like a strong plot but don't care much for characters and character development, I wouldn't give you this book.Â

I really like this book and I think that if your between the ages of 9-12 you will like this book
I think this is the only book where the four VKs are still evil. I can see that they are turning the chapter to good, but I was amazed! I mean, in every single Descendants book I have read so far, they aren't evil. I mean, not evil at the end of the story. Maleficent, how could you send your daughter out there?! I mean, you are very evil, but sending your own, beautiful, daughter is absurd! Then again, you are a villain. Poor Mal's plan didn't work. Why she touched it instead of letting Evie is unbelievable to me.
great book
I really enjoyed this book! It was lots of fun to read. I was never bored, and it conveys a good message! :)

Have you ever wondered what happened to your favorite villains after the heroes they despised got their happy-ever-after? They were banished to the Isle of the Lost, surrounded by a magical force field that prevents them from leaving or using magic to hurt anyone again. In order to get out, they need their children to find the Dragon’s Eye, Maleficent’s evil scepter. It’s up to the children of Maleficent, The Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella De Vil to find it and continue their parent’s evil legacy! Talk about serious pressure! This book was very fun to read. It had plenty of adventure and you can’t help but like the new generation of villains.
I've read this watched movie couple of times and watch wicked world and will watch descendants two.
