5 Academy Award Nominations. How could this even be considered for one nomination? Dreary and silly. I did not like this movie.

This must be one of my favourite coming of age movies. This movie wasn’t like other movies as I feel it was more realistic in that idea of relationships and daily life. It shows the perspective of living through a high school point of view. I loved the main character in this movie, Lady bird, the actress and character herself were both very well done. I also liked Kyle, he was different from other boys but was also very rude and strange. This movie had a lot of relatable parts throughout and was entertaining. I would recommend watching this movie with friends as it is a good laugh. 4.5/5 stars @EffyStonem of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board.

So there is a lot of buzz about this movie Lady Bird, and so I was intrigued to see if it worth the hype and was like an award contender film and I will say I really enjoyed myself. I think the film is quite funny, I laughed pretty consistently throughout at the joke and it is definitely entertaining and never left me bored or disinterested in what was happening. So just from an entertainment value it has the laughs it is a nice, easy breezy kind of viewing experience. I will say some of the editing and some of the story points and flow did not work so well in fact a little bit choppy but in general I think it was a pretty solid job. I think overall Lady Bird is exactly what you are anticipating it to be it really is kind of typical, snarky, and sarcastic indie film about young adults or teenager that we have seen many times before but to its credit this one is executed very very well. So if you enjoyed the trailer of Lady Bird, I think you really gonna enjoy this film. 4/5 Stars. @moviefanatic of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

This was THE perfect movie to watch during a rare night in with my high school daughter. We both enjoyed the very real and complex relationship between the mother and daughter. We laughed a lot, cried a little, and found plenty of things to discuss. This is an authentic portrait of how we are all trying to find our true selves in an often unpredictable world. The casting was excellent. We'd watch it again in a heartbeat.

As a product of an all-girls Catholic high school I found this coming of age table thoroughly enjoyable. Laurie Metcalf and Saoirse Ronan gave great performances. It was a good snapshot of that period of time transitioning from the teenage years to not quite adulthood, and a love letter to the people and places that make you who you are.

Contrary to all the positive reviews, I didn't care for this movie. There just did not seem a point to the overall story, but the biggest complaint that I have is the pacing. Each scene went by too rapidly. Like, this happened to character A and B, and before you know it something else happens. There is simply no pause for effect. Also, the unpleasant, offbeat feel made it really difficult for me to enjoy.

movie = 1.5 hrs. Set in Sacramento California, ... set inside family life, and complexities of high school life, set in a male and female Catholic high school; (I enjoyed the Principal's talks with Ladybird.)
A human story; so familiar as a family story ... so familiar as a coming of age story, risks; Saoirse Ronan as Ladybird was wonderful.
Laurie Metcalf was also wonderful, wonderful; so true to life.

Thank you, ...as a Kindness and as appreciation ... to others shows ,,, emotional maturity.

Excellent movie! Seeing Saoirse Ronan playing the character usually being played by Gerwig was a big improvement. Gerwig is fun to watch but Saoirse is a revelation.

I have mixed feelings about this one. This is a coming of age story about a young woman in her last year of high school. I love that is a female-centric story, with very strong, complex female lead characters. The writing is realistic and clever. The acting is outstanding and natural. Saoirse Ronan is brilliant and mesmerizing. The problem for me was I didn't really like these characters very much. I found them self-absorbed and kind of annoying and silly. Overall I liked it as a film. There's lots of good stuff here and I was glad I watched it, but in real life I wouldn't really want to hang out with these people.

Many inquiring and humorous quotes have been posted in IMDb. Many thanks to the contributors. The first quote listed in the site hits the spot on the relationship between many teens and their parents (added three lines* for full context):
Lady Bird: I wish that you liked me.*
Marion: Of course I love you.*
Lady Bird: But do you like me?*
(Conversation continued as the first quote in IMDb page)
Marion: I want you to be the very best version of yourself that you can be.
Lady Bird: What if this is the best version?
