What an amazing world to discover. I am excited to check out the next book in the series. Parts of this book made me laugh right out loud.

Another Murdoch Mystery novel (the fourth.) I really enjoyed this one. From the death of his sister to the surprising request to come to the Don jail. The series really is a must read. (But it should be mentioned the books are not exactly like the television show by the CBC. So unless you can create separation between the two the series may be hard to read if you like the show.) Very quick paced, it won't take long to read it.Another Murdoch Mystery novel (the fourth.) I really enjoyed this one. From the death of his sister to the surprising request to come to the Don jail. I could stop reading this book! Written in a "Who done it?" format.
**warning** there is a very good chance you will stay up far too late to read this book.
Just when I thought I had figured out "who done it," details would arise and I will shift to another suspect. Very very good.I could stop reading this book! Written in a "Who done it?" format.

I wanted to read this to learn more about Justin Trudeau and I wasn't disappointed. I find that I have a more detailed view of the person behind the image. His vision and perception of Canada as a country is very close to my own. This book also includes some speeches you may have heard fragments of; it was nice to be able to read them.I wanted to read this to learn more about Justin Trudeau and I wasn't disappointed. I have loved listening to Stuart McLean's stories from the very first one I ever heard. This was my first book though. I love the story compilations. The little lessons to learn from each one was a nice nostalgia to times ago. Some stories didn't have the trademark humour but they were must reads despite that. The funny parts were so funny. Highly recommend. This was a deliciously creepy book. It brings to mind the idea of how many of the "monsters" in our world are imaginary and human. It captures parenting, death, and life very well.

This is a historical novel documenting a portion of the life of Jacquetta of Luxembourg (1415/16 - 1472) as she ventures through the English court, the French and English wars, and the turn of the fortune wheel. It was incredibly interesting. The time jumps were easy to follow and the characters were very well rounded. The author offers an extensive bibliography so that you may learn more on your own of the history of the time and the players. I would recommend this book. This is a historical novel documenting a portion of the life of Jacquetta of Luxembourg (1415/16 - 1472) as she ventures through the English court, the French and English wars, and the turn of the fortune wheel. I haven't read this author before. I did like the book but I agree with many of the comments (in the Savy Reader group that I am in on FB that it was confusing.) I have read many books that jump around but I found with this one I would be reading and have to go back. Just because it switched with no clear line that it did switch. The ending was kind of anti-climatic. It left closure for one voice but all the others you are left wondering. From a lot of people in the Savy Reader group on FB I will be interested to try another book by this author in the future.I haven't read this author before. I first heard about the orphanages that changed into mental hospitals and the brutal conditions while attending university a few years ago. This book captured and brought to life the history very well. It brought a life to it that we are omitted from reading about something from "ago." As the heart breaking story unfolds you can't help but feel like you are seeing it through the eyes of the characters. I highly recommend. This is a wonderful example of how historical fiction brings moments of history to life.I first heard about the orphanages that changed into mental hospitals and the brutal conditions while attending university a few years ago. This was my second time reading this book. It holds a special place for me. Whether the items you have lost are single socks or people this book offers a shred of comfort. That there is a place where they are. The is the biggest anxiety is the wondering where they are. I really enjoyed the concept. I think this is one of those books where the reader places the filler in amongst the story with the things from their own life. Imputing those things makes the story so much more than just the words on the paper. This was my second time reading this book. It holds a special place for me. A story where religion and science meet to verse each other as the truth is hunted for. The stakes? The life of an eleven year old girl. Lib was called in to conduct a "watch" with Sister Michael to confirm whether or not an eleven year old girl is actually existing without any food as a sort of miracle. When the horrible truth is hinted upon it lands on Lib alone to find the truth's proof. This story was another great example of historical fiction. I really enjoyed it. The concept of the story was so interesting. From all the raves that I heard in the "Savy Reader," group on Facebook I thought I would end up liking this more than I did. There were times when things felt drawn out but other times there seemed like something was missing. The conclusion leaves you wondering what exactly happens to "Rowan." Not my favourite by Ruth Ware but decent. The concept of the story was so interesting. A very quick paced book alternating between the present and the past of the main character. There is a joining of her school days with her present. I enjoyed this book at the beginning... but was just a bunch of little things that bring the rating down for me. Hannah is fun and delightful but still limits the way she perseveres other characters especially women. I was also very put off by the end... when there is an option to discuss someone's abuse against women but yet it will not be revealed because people respected the man. At this point I don't know if I will read more the series.I enjoyed this book at the beginning... but was just a bunch of little things that bring the rating down for me. This book was a great read if you wanted a spooky story... However once I reached the ending it ruined the allure of the "ghost story" feel I was going for. It was a well written piece nonetheless.
